SLEEP Group

Have you been diagnosed with sleep apnea or do you suspect that you have sleep apnea? UPMC and Breathe Pennsylvania are partnering to offer a support group session for individuals who want to learn more about sleep apnea.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a chronic condition that affects as many as 22 million Americans. Many people are unaware that they may suffer from OSA, which is responsible for most cases of sleep apnea. Eighty percent of the cases of moderate or severe OSA remain undiagnosed.

The group setting will provide support, lifestyle tips, education, equipment information and preparation tips (SLEEP) on how to manage a sleep apnea diagnosis.

The group’s first meeting will be held on:

Wednesday, April 24
6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
UPMC Montefiore Hospital’s LHAS Auditorium

Attendees will learn about sleep apnea, treatment updates and how to live with sleep apnea.

Dr. Sanjay R. Patel, Director of the Sleep Disorders Program, UPMC Presbyterian-Shadyside, and William Holmes, Lead Sleep Technologist, CRT, RPSGT, CSE, UPMC Montefiore, will be on hand to answer any questions.

Pre-paid parking tickets will be available. Attendees should park in the LEVEL 7 visitors parking on Buffalo Street off of Terrace Street.
